Stagazer Lily is a new song. We wrote it while we were out on tour with Squid the Whale. We also recorded a full band version in Chicago at Bricktop Recording with Pete Grossman.
lyrics
We had a couple days
We had our happy hour
I put a smile on your face
I even bought your favorite flowers
And I know it happened fast
And it wasn't how I planned
I didn't mean to rush you
Straight to the end
Now I'm holding on as tight as I can.
Tell me what to do, tell me what to say.
Anything at all and I'll do it.
I will.
Just please don't make me watch you walk away
And have to brave another day
It's taken everything I have just to fake a smile on my face
Won't you please put me in my place?
Tell me what I've done
To make you turn around and run
I know that you've been hurt before
but brighter days will come
as soon as you stop blocking out the sun.
And maybe you're just scared
Or a little unprepared
But I'm feeling like I blew it
So can you show if you care?
You know I'd do whatever I have to do to stay here right next to you
Simply nothing makes me feel, the way I feel when I'm with you
Ever since the night we met
It's been your face that I can't forget
Now I'm going crazy for a love that I may never get
The zodiac said that we'd attract
Cuz we're opposite like front to back
I'm the orange kid in your sour patch
Even you're own mother thinks you've finally met your match.
Tell me what to do, tell me what to say
Anything at all and I'll do it
I will
Just please don't make me watch you walk away
and have to brave another day
It's taking everything I have just keep a smile on my face
Won't you please put me in my place?
